In 2012, the YWCA of Charleston celebrates 100 years of fostering self-sufficiency and independence. Originally designed as secure lodging for young women as they pursued careers, the YWCA has evolved into the city’s most diverse and comprehensive network of social service programs.

Through our programs, facilities and services, we assist more than 10,000 individuals each year in Kanawha, Clay and Boone counties. We provide shelter, case management, counseling, education, job training and childcare all while fostering independence in all our clients. By eliminating racism and empowering women, the YWCA creates peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.

Join us as a Centennial sponsor or member of the Centennial Circle and help the YWCA Charleston meet the emerging needs of the next 100 years!
