Many Stories, One Future

YWCA Campaign to End Racism

YWCA Charleston has worked in social justice for much of our 106 year history.

We realize the power of attacking root causes for inequity and injustice–both for women and minority populations. While we have found sustainable funding streams to support our work empowering women, we have struggled to find similar opportunities to support our work eliminating racism.

In order to strengthen our capacity to be a racial justice leader in this community, the YWCA has embarked on a 3-year $1 million endowment campaign to support racial justice work in Kanawha, Clay and Boone counties—in perpetuity.  The goal of the campaign is to have all pledges and dollars in totaling $1 million by December 2021. This campaign has been named “Many Stories One Future, YWCA Campaign to End Racism.”

YWCA Charleston is poised to strengthen our capacity to mitigate downstream effects of racism and attack its root causes.
